Momma turns 80

My sweet mother turned 80 back on March 7th. We had a surprise birthday party on her on March 3rd. Two of my sisters live in VA, and they came home that weekend, yet another surprise for her:) We figured she would know something was up when they showed up, but the next day, they told her that Julie was going to go to my church with me to help me with something, and then they were going to get her and get something to eat. She had NO idea what was waiting for her. A good time was had by all.

My Weight Loss Journey

The beginning of March, I have decided that it was TIME to begin my weight loss journey. I was tired of being the one at my family gatherings that was the "fat" one. My nieces LOVES getting there pictures taken and always wants one with me. At my Mom's 80th birthday party, my niece Courtney wanted her picture with me, and when I got home and uploaded the pictures onto my computer and saw that one, I KNEW it was time to lose that weight. So far on my journey I have lost 19lbs, 6 total inches and down 1 skirt size:) This makes me very happy!! I have several more pounds to go to reach my goal, and I know that I have to take it ONE day at a time. Some days are easy and then there are others that are very difficult to get through. My hubby is VERY supportive of me and for that I am very thankful. Here are a few pictures of me before losing weight, and I haven't gotten any of me since I have started losing. When I do I will post them. To help me keep track of my calories/exercise I have joined Myfitnesspal.com. I love this site and it does help me a lot!!

~Currently Reading~

I am currently reading this book "Created to be His Help Meet". My niece recommended it to me. My desire is to be the "Help Meet" that God intended for me to be. I know we have to live and learn, and sadly my "selfish" ways have gotten in the way. I know it is not too late to change, and I thank God for that. So far what I have read has made me stop and think and pray that God will continue to help me be all I can be for Him and for Tom.

New Addition

This past January, our family received a little bundle of Joy!! Hudson Douglas Miller was born on January 24th. What a joy he is. We all love him to pieces!! This is my great nephew!!

Hudson was born with a cleft pallet and lip,

but the surgery he has had, you cannot even tell!!

~New Year~

Happy New Year everyone!! I decided to start the New Year out right, and write on my blog. 2011 ended very well with me and my family, we spent it together. We had our family Christmas on New Year's Eve. What a great time we all had. 2012 didn't start out the greatest for me, not feeling well, means no Church on the New Year's. Stayed home and slept about all day. I pray that this new year, God will help me to grow in Him, and to so His will. I had so many struggles last year, and I know I could not have gotten through them all without Him. He is ever faithful to me. Here are a few pictures of my family.

~Prayers~

Please pray for my sister in law, Trish. Her and her family are on vacation visiting her family in MO, and she ended up in the hospital, in St Louis. She has an infection in her colon, and are running more test on her today. She is hoping to get out today, so please pray for her and her husband .
